What We’re Looking For
Velum publishes literary fiction, hybrid work, and experimental writing that benefits from being encountered without biography attached. Not because authors should be hidden, but because sometimes the work deserves to arrive first.
We accept submissions from writers who have something to say that their name would complicate. Professionals whose careers exist alongside their literary lives. People exploring subject matter that is too close, too personal, or too risky to attach a name to. Writers who are simply tired of being asked to be a brand before they're allowed to be an author.
